This year's runway will feature some of the Mid-South’s most prominent career women, socialites, entrepreneurs, full-figured celebrities, and bloggers as models.  We recognize their leadership, service, and contribution in the plus community and would like to honor their curves on the runway!

Melody dedicates her life to helping others discover their God given purpose and create the life of their dreams. Melody’s philosophy is “in order to have what you never had, you must do what you have never done.” This mindset was the catalyst that inspired Melody to launch her women empowerment movement, Fierce Fearless Free. This movement empowers women to Fearlessly live the life of their dreams, and look FIERCE doing it!

She is the proud author of “No Bad B*!@#E$ Allowed" It is a call to action for women to be positive role models to our little girls. She not only identifies the

problem, but also offers the solution to save our sisters and help them take their place on the throne as QUEENS!

Dorian is a loving mother and a proud active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. During her several  years working for Sephora as a certified makeup artist, she was able to tremendously expand her product knowledge, master her skill & work with all ages, skin tones & types of the world. These aspects in her life are what have strongly influenced her  well-rounded view & style in makeup artistry.

Ashley  was inspired to open a plus size boutique after having several encounters with designers not catering to the stylish full-figured woman. After countless disappointments, Dean of Fashion was born in January 2010 as Memphis’s first and only independently owned plus size boutique.  

Since opening, Dean of Fashion has produced several successful fashion shows and community events that promote self-love and self-esteem.  The Dean of Fashion brand encourages women to embrace their curves; not hide them, take fashion risks, and break “myths and rules!” When it comes to fashion rules, there are none at Dean of Fashion!

TaKeisha is a pioneering hair care specialist, stylist, and beauty expert with more then 15 years of experience caring for clients with chemically processed and natural hair. She is also the founder and creator of the Naturals in the City Hair & Wellness Expo – an annual event that attracts thousands each year by connecting natural hair and wellness business owners with consumers. The expo offers unique opportunities to learn more about the benefits of and best practices for maintaining healthy, beautiful natural hair, and a venue for celebration and fellowship among Mid-South naturals and aspiring naturalistas.

Chef Fran Mosley owns and operates the Company.  Mrs. Mosley has spent the past decade and a half in the customer service industry, where she has held a wide range of managerial positions.  Passionate about Southern cuisine and the art of baking, Mrs. Mosley is a creative thinker who approaches challenges with enthusiasm and focus. 

With the uncertainty of working for someone else, Fran decided to just try to do what she loved and created what she tasted in her mind. Fran Mosley says with prayer, the culinary programming of SWTCC, apprenticeship under several Chefs,  and a lot of taste testing Haute Monde Sweet & Savory Bar came to fruition which paved the way to The HM Dessert Lounge.  She found her niche by taking an ordinary idea and making it extraordinary.

Brandy J. Flynn is a vibrant person who has always wanted to be in a place in her life where she

backgrounds, broken families and relationships, and individuals going through difficult times.

During her tenure of working in the field, Brandy noticed a great deal of athletes and entertainers

going through a lot of trials and tribulations. She was wondering if they had someone that they

could turn to. With that thought, she began a mission to be a resource for those who are a part of

the industry to find balance in their life.

She also advocates for mental health awareness and wellness, by blogging, writing publications, and speaking at various seminars and panel talks.

Lynn Whitney Williams is a Financial Center Manager at First Tennessee Bank. She has been in banking for over 10 years and has managed accounts for prominent community figures such as  Grizzlies players, Redbirds players, and many small business owners throughout the Tri-State area. She holds a passion of educating others on personal development while creating confident financially successful leaders.

 

As a result, she birthed "Financial Crowned Queen" teaching others how to start their business, create business plans, and maintain a healthy credit report. 

Although she is a personal banker to many, she also has her own business called Sui Generis Clothing . She is known for the trendy T-shirt line called "The Definition of a Gentleman.

Nelson Mandela

Jenae’ is an Assistant Principal in Shelby County Schools. She has served students in public education for over 14 years. In her tenure, she has earned three degrees, started a mentor/mentee group for teenage girls, provided assistance for aspiring leaders in her field, and featured in the magazine Women of Style, Spirit, and Success.  

Becoming a plus-sized model was never on her agenda until she was coerced

by a colleague to audition for a local casting-call featuring women with curves. After being booked, she has been ripping the runway ever since. Through modeling, Jenae’ continues to educate showing how beauty may present itself in many forms, and essentially it comes from the heart. Her inspiring testimony tells of deep voids becoming powerful value.
